Strategic Assessment of WASH project in Telangana

About the project: Water Aid India engaged us to evaluate the WASH programme in Telangana. The aim was to develop a deep rooted understanding of the programme implementation in areas where the work has been outsourced to local third party agencies.  Water Aid intended to use our recommendations to influence and advocate for expanding the reach and impact of WASH programmes across the length and breadth of India and positively changing the way in which people access and use WASH facilities.

The project entailed engagement with stakeholders at multiple levels. The methodology was a combination of review of previous work, interviews of programme staff right from State co-ordinator to the community level staff and survey of households. All the data was recorded and analyzed to develop recommendations for the future course of WASH programme.
