Building Economic Alternatives Through Sustainability

About the project: ActionAid International’s annual capacity building meet in Africa in 2013 required developing case studies on building economic alternatives for women through sustainability.   Through this study, emphasis was laid on the ‘care’ economy and how that can be improved by means of certain affirmative actions via private, state or cooperative channels. The core element of the study was identifying global yet diverse case studies to be adapted within the framework of ActionAid’s module.

About the client: ActionAid is a leading international development agency, working in over 45 countries. They work with the poorest of people across the globe with local staff across countries, who provide immediate, hands-on support. The entire gamut of activities span across defending women’s rights, sustainable livelihoods, education and other humanitarian responses.
